Reviews Summary
Reviews for the San Bernardino County Courthouse are mixed, with many praising the helpfulness of front desk staff. However, significant wait times at the resource center and frustrations with judicial decisions in family court are recurring themes. Some visitors feel the system prioritizes funding over children's best interests and that mediation can be unproductive.
"This is one of the worst places in the world for children-father access. The employees here must be more focused about Title IV-D funding and private attorney money than the actual best interests of the children.
In California, judges are supposed to be looking for creative ways to have children spend near equal time with fit and willing parents, but they’re still awarding primary parenting time to 80% of the moms and putting dads on 4-6 overnights with 4 mid week dinners here (less than 29%).
If you get commissioner Gassner, ask for a judge immediately instead so you hopefully don’t have to waste years trying to parent your kids equally, but consistently get denied with no judicial reasoning behind it. Honestly, Gassner is not the only one doing this, but he’s definitely in on it. He’s been on my case for FIVE YEARS! Like I said, they must be scheming for the Title IV-D funding and extracting as much money from the parents to put in attorneys pockets.
They exacerbate the tension between the parents so it becomes like a boxing match at court rather than creating solutions to mitigate the conflict."

"Customer service is fair, front desk are helpful I will say. However, “G” level I believe resource center has gotta be the worst. We don’t live in the 80/90s anymore, we’re way too far in the future for 4-5hr waits sitting in a chair. Move on with technology SB court. Here’s a easy fix - check in, dismiss the person, engineer a system that places you in line and give you live updates thus tell them 30mins in advance to return to court that they’re next in line, problem solved. I’m appreciative of the help, truly am, but waiting 5 hours and being a “good boy” sitting in this chair is not cool…."

"Cherise Carpenter was extremely rude during my mediation. She asked way too many personal questions that had nothing to do with the current situation, including questions about my previous children from other relationships. I also found it inappropriate that she asked about my relationship status. She didn’t even allow me to speak or explain on certain topics. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I left the session feeling very upset and unheard."
