Reviews Summary
Uber HQ is a symbol of San Francisco's tech industry, known for its modern campus and art installations. However, it's also a site for driver protests concerning fair pay and company policies. Visitors should be aware of the high cost of rideshares in the city and that the HQ is not a public tourist attraction.
"Some of my local restaurants are being excluded from the Uber Eats 40% off coupon. Scott Dave of Chat Support said that the store I want to order from is not on the list, but would not tell me how a store gets on the list. Michelle said to call Phone Support, but then noticed I am not eligible to call Phone Support, and would not tell me how to become eligible for this. Rohit said that promotions are available once a store provides promotions with Uber, but would not say how a store could provide promotions with Uber. And why did Scott Dave, Michelle, and Rohit get to just 'end the chat' with me? Then Letminthang Guite said to make an order and then reach back for best possible resolution, and asked if I had any concerns. I said that when I reach back, I'll just be told that the store was not eligible for the promotion and will not get refunded the promotion amount. So, Letminthang Guite 'ended the chat' with me yet again. Then the system kicked me out and asked what I thought about it.
And Uber Eats' Facebook employee seems to be using FB as a personal account, rather than a store front. The majority of 'likes' cater to Chicago Ladies' places, and the employee has put this formerly paying customer on 'ignore' for two weeks now. 👎🏻
I think my local drivers are great but the company they work for is Decidedly Californian."

"4-9-25 update: Uber has been contacting my wife via text/email after reaching out to the BBB but took awhile. Not resolved yet. Will see…
Original review: These guys won’t help my wife out even though one of their ride users is illegally using my wife’s Wells Fargo checking account. Even going through the BBB they are still forcing people to get their app even though they don’t have a need for one and the illegal action is not my wife’s fault. Very despicable company if you ask me. They seem to exist to take money but to not handle business properly when necessary. It should be illegal to not have a support phone number for situations such as my wife’s. Thank you for listening."

"customer service is useless. drivers are being robbed by the company. every time the rides are cheaper and cheaper. tips are not coming in full, some definitely take it for themselves because their system calculates taking into account tips $30 per hour for active time. They are simply being robbed"

Beyond its corporate function, Uber HQ has become a focal point for discussions and actions related to rideshare driver welfare. Protests by drivers demanding fair pay, better working conditions, and transparency in algorithms frequently occur outside the headquarters. These demonstrations highlight the ongoing tension between the company's growth and the livelihoods of its drivers, making the area a site of both technological advancement and labor activism.
The campus also features notable art installations, adding an aesthetic dimension to the corporate environment. These custom-designed pieces, often created by local artists, reflect Uber's commitment to integrating art and design into its workspace. While not a public tourist destination, the HQ serves as a landmark representing a significant facet of San Francisco's modern identity.
Rideshare Driver Concerns and Protests
Social media content often captures these protests, showing drivers gathering to voice their grievances. The discussions on platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels highlight the human element behind the rideshare economy, showcasing the challenges faced by those on the front lines. Reddit threads also frequently discuss the financial struggles of drivers and criticize the company's customer service and pay structures.
These ongoing concerns underscore the complex relationship between rideshare companies, their drivers, and the cities they operate in. The activism around Uber HQ reflects a broader movement for worker rights within the gig economy, pushing for greater transparency and fairness in how these platforms operate.
