Day trip from Los Angeles #1 40 min south from the city, San Juan Capistrano is a cute small town with old mission. The hand painted decorative wall murals of the church and basilica feels modern and even trendy to me. It was very different from any cathedrals I’ve visited and now one of my favorite.
