What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise The Huntington for its breathtaking gardens, diverse art collections, and the sheer beauty of its rare book library. Many highlight the peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity to spend an entire day immersed in nature and culture. Some find the entrance fee a bit high, and during peak times, it can get crowded, but the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
"Absolutely breathtaking. Immaculately maintained gardens and facilities. So many diverse settings all in one place! We did Japanese, Chinese and Desert gardens (and bonsai collection) and also had a bit of time at the mansion/art museum. Will need to come back another time to see the rest, in particular the rose gardens, which I hear are best in March through November.
Overall, the best botanical garden(s) experience I have had. (and, at first, I did balk at the $29 ticket price, but after visiting, feel it is well worth it.). Amazing space."

"I have been wanting to come here for a long time! Had to buy tickets online as it was a holiday and guess they are needed for Friday's, Saturday's and Sundays. Went right away in the morning and spent over 4.5 hours here! At over 100 plus acres and 16 themed gardens there is a lot of walking involved.
Galleries to enjoy, gift shop ,tea house, cafés and more.
Gardens included desert, Japanese, Australian, jungle, roses and many more.
There was a cute water play area for children.
I saw tram shuttle for people that wanted a ride back as some places are far away from the entrance and it got very warm.
Definitely worth the price to see this beautiful place!"

"This place is magical. The grounds are breathtaking. The cafe food is delicious and reasonable. The galleries have some amazing works of art, including The Blue boy. They had a live performance of traditional Chinese music in the Chinese gardens on the day I visited. It was lovely, surrounded by a body of water with plants, flowers, and rockery. We were there for about 2.5 hours and barely saw 10% of what’s available. Will definitely return."
