The seal in O’Neill Slough , near Bay Trail, Belmont

Hi everyone! I keep seeing a single seal in O’Neill Slough (Belmont) for like 2 weeks. Is it expected or it just stuck there?

Best places to launch kayak from a beach/dock?

I have an inflatable kayak that I’ve used in the lakes in the sierra mountains. I’ve been wanting to take it out somewhere in the Bay Area but not sure what areas are inflatable kayak friendly. Usually I launch it from a sandy beach or an inclined docking platform. Any…

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Seal Point Dog Park for its vast off-leash space and separate areas for small and large dogs, offering great bay views. However, some note the limited shade and the inconveniently located water station, advising guests to bring their own hydration. Occasional concerns about dog interactions highlight the need for constant supervision.

"Love this off-leash dog park. It's huge with lots of room for dogs to run and socialize. Several benches are available to sit. The park also has a little dog section for smaller pets. They provide free waste bags and trash cans at both ends and the middle of the park. There is a water station at the entrance only so I advise to bring water for your pet while in the park. Lots of parking."

"I’m usually up in Novato but a last minute appointment brought me to San Mateo. This is a great large area for dogs and humans. Great view of the bay. Hiking trails and cool art pieces. There is also a large small dog area. One downside for me is that the only water is located outside of the fenced area and the pressure was low to the point the bowl does not fill. Note to bring my own water and bowl. Friendly dogs"

"This is a good dog park, especially for big and active dogs. It is a huge area, but it is mostly dirt and very little shade. Not a good place for timid dogs, this tends to be a very active and rowdy group of dogs. There is a small dog area that is also good, I just don't like that it shares the fence line with the big dog side. There is often fence running/fighting if people don't stop their dogs."
