My husband and I have each been camping a few times, but a million years ago, and are trying to dip our toes back in. We don’t live far from China Camp and are thinking it’s a perfect location because we can take walks/hikes from the campsite, and feel like we’re truly in nature…

Bay Area multi generation family hike
Organizing a hike with 3 generations of my family - from 80 year olds to 6. Need to find a trail that works for everyone for next weekend. Top of mind is Tennessee Valley hike in Marin and Lands End in SF. Any other ideas that fit the bill? Ideally in SF or San Mateo county…
Places to launch kayak around San Rafael
Recently moved from the east bay to San Anselmo and was looking for low key, easy spots to launch my kayak. I’m open to the more grandiose launch spots too like Point Reyes, but this is more for like chill weekday spots I can do after work without much hassle or crowd. I’ve…

What's your favorite Marin activity?

"A hidden gem and historical site that provides a quiet place to contemplate life. several places to stop along the way there, good parking, beautiful view,. Great for families or individual. Bumpy two lane road part of the way. Another hidden gem right in our back yards."

"Cool little historical village. You can learn all about the Chinese fishing village that was located on this site to catch, dry, and sell shrimp from the bay waters. There’s are several historic buildings that have been well preserved as well as tools and other items from the period. It’s not somewhere you’ll need much more than a half hour to check out but we’ll worth your time if you are in the area."

"Not a lot of people. Quiet sight to relax and picnic. Museum is free $5 parking fee."
