"Black Bear Wilderness Area has a beautiful 7.5 miles loop trail that is a must do! The trail is well maintained, but you do have to watch your footing for tree roots. It has abundant wildlife. We saw a Bear in the parking lot before we even started our hike! We also encountered wild hogs, and alligator, a pygmy rattlesnake, and a wide variety of birds. We will definitely do it agsin.again. our GPS told us to turn at the stop sign, but you should go straight to the parking lot. There is a porta potty at the trail head. It was clean when we visited."

"Came here Based on other people's reviews of the park and their experience here as we came down this way for Vacation and I can say that it is defintely worth the trip to check out! We went around 4pm and its a 7.1 mile trek around the park and I would highly recommend coming around 2-3pm id you plan to do the full loop and dont want to get caught in the dark at all. We saw a few Gators roughly 3-4 ft., Lots of different types of birds including Herons, Hawks and other larger Birds, Found a small Pygmy Rattlesnake just off the side of the trail and wandered across an entire herd of Wild Boar while walking the trail! 100% would highly recommend taking a little day trip and exploring this park, You will not regret it!!"

"This was an awesome hike. Pretty hard, due to the amount of exposed roots. I wondered if I would see some dangerous wildlife. Nope, just a big 'old feral pig. He wasn't concerned about me at all. The trail was dry. The Porta Jon was disgusting. Glad I'm not a female! You know what I mean...Parking was bad; had to wait about 15 - 20 min to get a spot."
