Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Tarpon Bay Explorers for its outstanding guided tours and the exceptional knowledge of its naturalists, particularly highlighting guides like Austyn. The calm, shallow waters make it ideal for families and beginners, with many enjoying the opportunity to see abundant wildlife, including manatees and diverse bird species. While the sun can be intense, the overall experience is described as fun, active, and educational.
"My family of 5 did the kayak tour today, 6/25/25. We had a 6yo, 10yo, and 11yo participate. My husband took the 6yo in his kayak, the two older kiddos took a kayak together, and I took a single. Our tour guide, Austyn, was outstanding! She was super knowledgeable and very accommodating with all the kiddo questions and comments. The water was at high tide so it was pretty fast moving and easily paddled going in. Coming out, we had to put in the work to paddle back. But, even my noodle armed older two were able to handle it. It was so much fun. We saw so many birds. A manatee swam under my kayak and I just about died from excitement. This was the best thing I’ve done in a long time. It was extremely fun.
Make sure you have a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and water! This sun is brutal. But, it’s all worth it to float in some absolutely gorgeous water."

"Very nice, easy-going team of employees to make sure you are comfortable and enjoy your time on the water. We had a group of 5 adults who all kayaked on our own (singles and tandems). They offer guided tours, but we chose to kayak on our own. Shallow and calm waters made even our most beginner kayakers still enjoy the experience. I highly recommend this place to individuals, couples, and families."

"Fun morning in the water paddling and seeing wildlife. Easy trip for all ages., Water is not very deep anywhere so very safe. Guide was knowledgeable and answered questions along the way - you are free to explore on your way back after the tour. Take water with you. They do sell reusable water bottles you can fill with fresh drinking water at the starting point. Cute gift shop inside. Fun day for all"
