Hey, r/SantaMaria! My family (me, wife, 3 kids aged 0-5) are headed down to Santa Maria this summer to visit my wife's grandparents. We're looking at staying maybe 4 nights in a local hotel (could be up to 20-30 minutes from downtown Santa Maria) while still saving some money.…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests rave about the Santa Maria Inn's unique historic charm, friendly staff, and inviting pool. While some rooms show their age, the overall atmosphere and character make for a memorable stay. The convenient location and onsite dining options are also frequently praised.
"The place was spacious and full of surprises at every corner. There are so many events that are put on at this place, options for places to get good spirits (drinks), great historic items there and the staff are amazing. Thank you Dennis and Jimmy for a great experience, your professionalism and fun conversations. Only thing we found that needed attention was our room door was not in a good condition. Next year our car group (SoCal Celicas) will definitely try to host our event at this gorgeous place."

"I recently stayed at the Santa Maria Inn for four days and really enjoyed my time here. This hotel has a unique charm that sets it apart—there’s a warmth and welcoming feeling from the moment you step inside. What really stood out to me was the historical character of the property. You can sense the stories within its walls, which adds a layer of curiosity and intrigue that newer hotels simply can’t match.
While it may not have the flashy appeal of some modern places, that’s exactly what makes it special. Its history, atmosphere, and authenticity give it a personality all its own. Overall, my stay was wonderful, and I’d happily recommend the Santa Maria Inn to anyone looking for a memorable experience with genuine character."

"Very comfortable hotel. Great pool. Close to great restaurants (Shaw's for dinner and The Pantry for breakfast is our go to) just a few feet down the street. The rooms are pretty dated. Nothing too fancy in the bulk of the rooms. You can upgrade for better amenities. Great service from the staff and very friendly. Its a relatively quiet hotel as well. The kids love the pool, with almost 9' deep on one end! Very popular hotel, historic, and you may luck out with a car show in the parking lot. Happens many times each year. If you love old cars, Santa Maria Inn is the place!"
