Reviews Summary
Ken Thompson Park is praised as an underrated waterfront gem on Lido Key, offering beautiful bay views, a serene mangrove boardwalk, and family-friendly amenities like a playground and calm swimming lagoon. While some find the beach area shelly, the park's natural beauty and event potential make it a worthwhile visit.
"Underrated park on Lido Key. To get there head north from Lido to Longboat Key. You will come to a traffic light, turn right onto Ken Thompson Parkway. Go till it dead ends at Sarasota Bay. Has a small playground, clean restroom, picnic tables, and a few grills. Plenty of parking. Nice place to take dogs as there is a large grassy area and some trails. The beach, if you call it that, is full of ugly sea shells….however you can definitely swim there (but wear some water shoes)."
