"We were very pleasantly surprised by the CFRE. We brought a 9 year old, and she was fascinated. There was a scavenger hunt, microscopes, a live cam of what was in the water outside of the building, and sturgeon petting. We also enjoyed seeing small bugs like leeches, teeny crayfish, and several larvae of different insects. The young professionals who staffed this facility were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Great Lakes conservation. My daughter enjoyed asking them questions and learning from them.
The site’s Discovery Center was free to visit, but there were several opportunities to purchase items or make a donation to support the work occurring at this site.
This is a perfect activity if you have elementary/middle school aged children, and an extra hour or two."

"Actually expected a little more. As far as on hands learning for younger people. Maybe more tanks of fish and Wildlife"
