The Pirate's House, Worth It?

I am visiting with my family for the first time in May and I'm considering eating here with my son (4) and my daughter (2). Is it worth it? I usually steer away from tourists traps but I think my kids would really enjoy the pirate aspect and it seems like the food is decent. If…

How is the Pirate House these days?

My wife and I are heading to Savannah for her birthday. She's never been and I haven't been in downtown in over 20 years. The only restaurant I remember going to when I was a kid was the Pirate House which I as a pirate obsessed 10 year old loved. As my wife teaches English…

Reviews Summary

The Pirate's House is celebrated for its unique historical atmosphere and engaging pirate theme, making it a hit with families and those seeking a taste of Savannah's past. While the food is generally enjoyed, particularly the Southern comfort dishes and complimentary biscuits, some find it leans more towards a tourist experience than a culinary destination. The interactive pirate characters and the extensive gift shop add significant charm.

"Great option for a meal in Savannah! Food was great, especially the honey pecan fried chicken. A nice little spin on the classic dish. Loved the honey glazed biscuits that were brought out prior to the meal. Good size place but seems well run with solid service. Early day buffet looked great too. They do take reservations so a good idea to do that to eliminate your wait. Also has a large gift shop upstairs with stuff for the kids."

Sam Turner

"The Pirates House is definitely more of a tourist spot than a foodie destination. The restaurant itself is neat and has a cool history. The biscuits and the she crab soup were the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, everything else fell kind of flat. I ordered the crab melt which was loaded with red peppers even though the menu didn’t mention it, and it overpowered the dish. I had house made chips as my side and they were so stale that they were inedible. My husband had the chicken salad croissant sandwich and it didn’t taste seasoned at all. If you’re looking for a unique Savannah experience, you may like this place, but don’t expect a standout meal."

Brooke Logan

"The atmosphere was really nice and peaceful. The food was cuisine. And the service exceptional! I highly recommend this place especially if you have children. They had a blast. And we topped it off with souvenirs from the gift shop. Thanks for an exceptional brunch!"
