What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Sheboygan Indian Mound Park to be a peaceful place with historical significance, particularly appreciating the ancient burial mounds and the shaded nature trails. However, some reviewers note that trail maintenance can be inconsistent, with muddy sections and occasional closures impacting the experience.
"Small little walking trail ,the time I've visited it was in very rough condition very very muddy. The mounds are great to admire unfortunately the burial spot is no longer available. Hopefully the people in charge take care of it, plenty of potential and kinda of hidden."
Erik Sanchez
"Nice place to get a little nature hike and learn some Native American history while you're at it. The trails were maintained well in most of the areas where the mounds are. A couple spots had a narrow path and were overgrown on the sides where brushing your legs against the foliage on the sides. I would recommend pants vs shorts. Well-shaded. I was disappointed to find the nature trail was closed in a couple places near the wetland boundary so we couldn't walk more. It's nice that the mounds are being preserved."
Jeremey Wald
"We were there in fall and with all leaves off you can see the Mounds pretty good. They covered up the previously opened mound."

Exploring the Burial Mounds
Community insights suggest that visiting in the fall, when the foliage has thinned, offers the best visibility of the mounds. The park's commitment to preserving these sites ensures they can be appreciated by future generations. Remember to tread lightly and respect the solemn nature of these historical landmarks.
Navigating the Nature Trails
Traveler reviews highlight that while the trails are generally pleasant, preparedness for less-than-perfect conditions is key.
