"This is a no frills outdoor station where you can get on the MARC. They do have one covered area but mostly you can just sit in your car and wait for the train to be close. It's very close to my home which is the best upside. Plenty of parking."

"I know Google wants me to rate Duffields based on its merits as a good train station, and so I can only give it 4 stars. It's a suburban station with a covered pavilion, so it meets the bare minimum qualifications of what it needs to be, but it's remote and there's no place to go if you need a safe place to wait (a store or other well-lit public place with people around), so you need to have a ride waiting for you if you're coming in at night. Now, if I could rate it based on the people-watching you can do when you GET there, I'd give that unassuming station an 11! Seriously, both crowds will blow your mind: the people getting off the train and the folks waiting for them are fascinating! Last time I went to Duffields, I saw a woman dressed like she was on her way to a Southern Cotillion ball (huge floppy pink hat, shiny pink mermaid-skirt gown) talking to two men in a convertible, one of whom looked like he was a naval officer. Before that, I met a hippie guy that started a commune in the area, and there was an older lady who was carrying several bags with her and asking everyone in the parking lot if she could get a ride home. What's happening out there in WV?! Duffields is a nexus of mystery."
