Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Shipshewana for its unique Amish culture, bustling flea market, and hearty food. The town offers a charming escape with plenty of shopping and scenic drives. However, some find the campground amenities dated and note issues with site management and a lack of kid-focused activities.

"This large park is located on the edge of town, so easy access. The average sized sites are on gravel with grass between and feature a section for tents. The bathhouse is a bit dated but clean and functional with push button showers. Not a lot of kid oriented things to do and I didn’t see many kids here. Some of the people I spoke to return every year and make a reservation for next year before they leave for a specific site. Sometimes they don’t get the promised site and management said it’s in the fine print that they can move their site at management discretion. This does not make people happy."

John Dale

"A very nice place to use as your home base to explore the area. There isn’t a lot for kids to do, and the “pond” is not really a pond, which is why they didn’t get 5 stars. It’s more of a stale water hole with weeds growing all through it. The bathrooms are clean but need upgrading. The grounds are well taken care of and the staff is very polite and friendly. Some of the inner pull through sites are pretty close together. I would avoid them if you like to sit outside. But overall I would stay here again."

Larry H

"Convenient location near the RV capital of the world. Sites well maintained, level, easy in and out. Laundry facility clean, but used frequently. WiFi adequate. This is a very accommodating campground for mobile RV services, in fact one of them recommended this place for that reason. It is surrounded by Amish horse farms and quite beautiful. Be sure to get sites that back up to one, the horses come around frequently (we were on site 132). Some road noise, but otherwise very quiet and peaceful. Reasonably prices as well. Highly recommend."
