What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Little Molas Lake is lauded for its breathtaking alpine beauty, offering stunning lake reflections and access to incredible hiking trails like the Colorado Trail and Ice Lake Basin. Visitors rave about the scenery and potential for wildlife sightings. However, be prepared for a rough access road, limited amenities (vault toilets only, no running water), and the need to arrive early as campsites are first-come, first-served and fill quickly.
"Like many of the campgrounds that are in the San Juan mountains, Little Molass Lake is a gorgeous place. Just be prepared because you'll need to be completely self-sufficient. There is a pit toilet down at the main parking area, but it is pretty nasty. The road into the campground is rather rough for larger vehicles. Large deep, awkwardly spaced potholes."

"A very nice little lake along the Colorado trail."

"I have been to 5 of the 7 continents and almost every state and this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The views are fantastic!!! There are only vault toilets, no showers or any running water. The vault toilets were very clean and virtually no smell. The downsides are that it is first come, first served only. Also the road in could definitely use some help, it is rough. They need to develop more sites, there are not very many and with the first come, first served it fills up quickly. I was there Sept. 13th and it was full by 1PM. Take note there are no tables."
