What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Silverton Reservoir for its beautiful, clear waters and peaceful atmosphere, especially for paddleboarding and fishing due to the no-motorboat policy. Many enjoy the abundant wildlife sightings. However, some reviewers express disappointment with litter left by visitors, particularly fishermen, which detracts from the natural beauty.
"It was a great time paddling in the afternoon. Went up the creek quite a way and saw some great scenery. The lake is very parge and allowed plenty of quiet tine away from the swimming spot. The water was very clear. Overall it was a fun time and we will be back."
Paul Costales
"Beautiful and peaceful place to explore. One of my favorite places to paddleboard. Can't wait to go back right before they close. Fall colors will be there to look at."
Jenny Delcamp
"This is an absolutely beautiful place, except where fishermen are selfishly littering it up.
We saw so many beautiful creatures: massive butterflies, chipmunks, birds of prey, mice, dozens of salamanders, honey bees, etc. It was such a shame though that we saw them alongside so much trash that could harm or kill them.
When we went fishing here, we first spent our time filling up 4 trash bags of partially filled beverages, cigarette butts/cartons, empty power bait containers, and SO MANY wads of fishing line left behind... and this was just in the one small section of the shoreline we sat to fish. If you come to this beautiful location to take fish from the water, do everyone a favor and pack out your trash!"

A Haven for Wildlife Enthusiasts
Unfortunately, the beauty of this natural haven is sometimes marred by litter, particularly fishing line left behind by some anglers. It's a stark reminder of the importance of responsible recreation. Visitors are strongly encouraged to practice 'leave no trace' principles, packing out everything they bring in. By doing so, you help protect the delicate balance of this environment and ensure that future generations can also enjoy the diverse wildlife that calls Silverton Reservoir home.
Fishing Fundamentals
When planning your fishing trip, ensure you have the necessary state fishing license. Be aware of the parking situation, as the main lot can become congested on weekends.
