What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the beautiful panoramic views from Heublein Tower and the scenic hiking trails at Talcott Mountain State Park. The well-marked paths and historical significance of the tower are also highlights. However, the steepness of the initial hike and the current closure of the tower for renovations until May 2026 are noted drawbacks.
"A great moment spent there! The hike was pretty straightforward (to the left) after an initial rapid ascend. Just do not start so fast so that you won't feel tired. After that, there is an overlook where you'd see some other beautiful views and parts you may want to keep exploring. Then, after seeing some geological views, the Heublin Tower (will not open until May 2026) is just right in front of you. The top was refreshing - not only the tower, but some seemingly old cabins and beautiful trees.
p.s., for out of state plates - payment is required from April to October. In case you forgot that at the Taclott Mountain parking lot, you may also make it up at the top!"

"Very nice hike! A bit steep at first but there's a great view all throughout the hike looking over the mountain. The tower was cool especially if you're a history geek! I personally think the view is way better when you're outside than inside the tower."
Serenity
"I hiked the Heublrin Tower. Beautiful views once you make your way up, both mid-hike and at the top! Be sure to stretch well beforehand because it's very steep! Once at the top, you can visit the tower and admire the views and space."
