"One of the most important Sitka's landmark and the symbol of Russian colonial past in Alaska . The original building was completed in 1848. In 1966 there was a huge fire which totally destroyed the cathedral but most of the things inside were saved by the locals. In 1976 the cathedral was finally reconstructed and inside are displayed all the saved items."
