Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church is appreciated for its welcoming community, especially at the 8 am Sunday Mass which includes music and coffee. The modern worship space offers good acoustics and capacity, though some visitors have noted potential discomfort for parents with young children. The church is seen as a place for faithful worship with convenient donation options.
"Attended the 8 am Sunday Mass here while we were in Solomons Island for a getaway weekend. As a previous review stated, Masses are held in a much more modern building beside the parking lot, rather than the historic church. If the reviewer had poked their head into the historic church, they would have understood why - it is much smaller and seating capacity is probably about half of the modern building. Also, the lighting and acoustics in the modern building are much better. I've included photos of both here.
I was pleasantly surprised to attend an early Mass with music. The 8 am Mass had a solo cantor with a guitar. They also had coffee and doughnuts from Dunkin, which was a lovely treat. There is plenty of parking and ushers are very friendly. Electronic donations are accepted through FaithDirect, with plenty of QR codes posted. The modern church building also has two stands with votive offerings - one for St. Joseph and one for St. Thérèse of Lisieux."

"We went to Mass here after attending the Dragon Boat Festival, and to our surprise, Wood Carvings from Jerusalem, carved from Olive trees.
Msgr. Mike had a good sermon, if you want to know what he said, you should attend Mass. All I can say is it was good and accurate for the time. Pennsylvania."

"Beautiful church. However, parents of young children may not feel welcome. Parents with fussy toddlers have two options: (1) to be ostracized to cry room where their children don't learn to connect with God, or (2) to be judged harshly (glares, sighs, etc) throughout mass."
