Bloody angle at the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. Fought May 9th-21st, 1864.
Been 25 years since I've been here, on a trip with my dad. I remember how quiet and eerie it was when there before. I'm going to have a chance to visit in a few weeks with my oldest son to keep the history alive.

I just took a vacation to Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, and Spotsylvania...just a spectacular cluster of history I saw this field but the most time I spent at the Wilderness was in Saunders field and the two mile hike in the woods around both sides’ trenches…

"One of the bloodiest Union's assaults of the Civil War. If you know about it, you know. Nice trails & markers. A sobering experience to walk the trails of the assault route. A memorable & emotional experience for me as my GG grandfather fought in & survived this battle with the 126th Ohio Infantry. (A monument to the 126th is on site)"
