Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Straits State Park's unbeatable Mackinac Bridge views and well-maintained campsites with essential amenities like electricity. The park's location is praised for its convenience to St. Ignace and ferry services to Mackinac Island. While the rocky beach is noted as less ideal for swimming, the overall experience is highly recommended for its scenic beauty and practical facilities.

"The campsites were nicely sized and clean with large, safe, slightly elevated fire pits. It was nice having electricity, as a tent camper it isn't always an option. The bathhouses were very clean and dry, and I like how there was a large utility sink outside so people could wash dishes or anything else. There were a few different trails to take, which were nice and not muddy or overgrown. The beach is very rocky, but that view that close to the Mackinaw Bridge is unforgettable. I will definitely be returning to this park in the future!"

Chloe Null

"I really loved this campground for its proximity to so many beautiful places, overall layout, spacious sites and cleanliness. The only downside is that the beach which is within walking distance isn't great for a "beach day", imo. We were totally okay with that though. There are several beaches within driving distance. Would recommend!"

Samantha Jarema

"Camping in a Boreal Forest - Loved it! Great individual sites. Nice small town feel - could ride bikes into town & almost anywhere. Plenty of trails for hiking. The two Great Lakes of Huron & Michigan made it feel like a coastal town on the ocean. Highly recommend it."
