What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Mianus River State Park for its beautiful natural scenery, including the river and rock formations, and its extensive trail network suitable for hiking and mountain biking. However, some find the trail markers confusing and parking can be difficult to secure on busy days.
"A whimsical wonderland of many trails to choose from for all different skill levels. I entered on the Stamford side which has two levels of parking lots that are smaller and fill up quickly. I parked by the old red barn and walked over the bridge and entered the trailhead at the starting point. I had intentions of doing the 4mi loop around and started out on that trail following the yellow markers which then turned into green/ yellow and did not end up back where I started. The markers were a little confusing and I didn't feel it was accurate to the map. I loved the trails! From the River Trail along the water, to passing big boulders of rocks, the park was beautiful. I did however come out on the Greenich side and found out I was on the complete opposite side of the park of where I had parked. With this being my first time here, it was a little difficult to navigate. Talked to a few locals who were able to give me directions back. It was a great 7mi walk with a few bumps in the trails : )"

"A nice place for a walk with many intersecting trails. There's a few beautiful homes bordering the park. Today's walk was particularly nice as it was cool but not cold, and the fallen leaves make for a pretty sight. There's ample parking at the Greenwich parking lot."
