New to area and looking for a good running route (live close to downtown). Any route suggestions or good parks? I like to go 6-8 miles on average.
First off, welcome to Stamford!! Scalzi, Mill River and Kosciuszcko Park all are great parks with loops around that are great for running. If you run from downtown to Harbor Point, you can run the boardwalk, around Kosciuszcko, and back to downtown, it’s about 5-6 miles…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mill River Park is cherished for its peaceful atmosphere, scenic river views, and well-maintained paved trails, making it ideal for leisurely strolls and family outings. While some visitors note parking challenges and occasional construction, the park's natural beauty and charming artisan carousel are consistently praised as highlights.
"This park was on my list to check out while visiting this city. This was my 1st time visiting so I wanted to see this park which had some construction being done. I didn't have time to explore the entire park but the section i got to see did not have restrooms or a playground. Park is a decent size with plenty of seating and lounging around space. Coolest feature the the river that goes through the park. You can go in the river or just simply sit by rivers edge and enjoy nature."

"Mill River Park is a small, cute gem nestled in the heart of Stamford. It’s incredibly well maintained, making it perfect for peaceful strolls or family outings. The creek running through the center adds a calming, scenic charm. Cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant colors throughout the seasons make it a year-round delight. A lovely urban escape that blends nature and city life beautifully."

"The park has had mighty gentrification since I fished, ice skated, played football and baseball as a kid decades ago. The vast changes can be looked at as good or bad depending on your point of view. I like to take a positive position. I can't help reminiscing when I visit to walk, sit, bicycle in and around the place. The parking stinks and is steered to parking garages. That's why I like to ride a bike to take in the nice weather, people watch or socialize with old friends and new folks."
