Visitors appreciate the authentic, God-centered atmosphere and the strong sense of faith fostered by its parishioners. "Beautiful traditional smaller Catholic Church, consecrated in 1884, originally to serve the area's German & Swiss immigrants...very light & pleasant when the sun shines through the windows... St. Mary's partners with St. Michael's Catholic Church, 3-4 blocks away & they share an elementary school...ample parking in lot & on street (street parking does include one of Stillwater's famous hilly streets."

"A cozy, church that feels like a church...... Even though I am an Eastern Catholic I like the feel of this Church, and I like the type of committed traditional Catholic families u see here (a sign of a growing Catholic community compared to just seeing an old dying breed of church goers in all the other churches).....it really makes me feel like at home (as in home of our Lord Jesus) with my own Catholic (as in truly universal) brothers and sisters. ...... unlike most modern churches these days all about self esteem of the lost (to modern trends and entertainment) people that feel like community hall filled with lawyers and realtors trying to make a sales pitch. This one actually feels right..... Godly right..... like It's about God and spiritually not pandering to making lost sheep feel good about being lost to modern day trends. The only gripe I have is that even this Church doesn't ever even mention violent persecution of fellow Christians in islamist and communist lands ...... even when large scale massacres of Christians happen e.g. Nigeria..... Not even a peep.....even when entire neighborhoods or villages of Christians r burned down and Christians trying to escape r beaten with bricks and sticks in Pakistan .... Nope not a peep. But to be fair that's pretty much the standard ...... having lived in the western world for the past 25 years I have never heard a single prayer being offered for non-western Christians....not even once. I think it has something to do with the fact that Catholicism is comprised of 24 churches.... 23 of them r outside of the western World (Asia, Africa and Latin America) but the top decision makers have always been westerners (pope Francis doesn't really count he was just another white leftist man more concerned with the plight of Muslims than the Christian, Jewish, Sikh and Hindu victims of Muslims). The westerners have always been in the driving seat of Catholism hence only focused on appeasing the western social trends.... it never gave 2 hoots about what happens to the 80% of Catholics that live outside of the western world. Sorry for venting the frustration but what I am trying to say is this 1 Church among all the western churches I have ever been to over 25 years of me being in the west.... Is the only 1 church that makes me feel less frustrated with the naive western Christians.... and closer to our 1 God even here in the west. Hope all that read this try to understand before replying."
