Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Indian Island for its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful sunrise and sunset views, and scenic hiking trails, particularly the King's Trail. The charming covered bridge adds to its appeal. Some note the presence of spiders and the need to lift strollers over inclines, while others mention the train noise and the lack of restrooms.

"This is a beautiful place. Peaceful, quiet. You can arrive early and watch the sunrise. Nice hiking trails around all the island. You will hear the train though. I recommend to buy the annual parking pass, if you plan to visit more than once a year. It is a much better deal than paying for ona day. People, please, let's keep this place clean. There's a lot of trash cans where you can dispose of your garbage, or take it back with you."

"Hiked this trail early Sunday morning. The main trail begins at the trailhead sign, but since a few people started there, we decided to go in the opposite direction. We had a stroller for my little one, and while the trail was manageable, we did have to lift it a few times. The inclines made it feel like a nice little workout 🤭. Spiders were everywhere, which my kids found fascinating (and a little funny, lol). There are plenty of fishing spots along the way, so we’ll definitely be coming back. Benches are scattered throughout the trail, and there are bins for trash, but no restrooms. So make sure your little one goes before crossing the bridge. By the time we wrapped up, my kiddos were already catching 💤."

Alexsis (STAR)

"The covered bridge connects the island with Cherokee Trail. The King's Trail on the island is 0.75 mile, pretty flat if you stay on the lake side. It's a nice spot for sunset."
