"Be aware that there is nesting wildlife outside of the main beach, and that dogs are not allowed in the area. You yourself will need to be careful where you step as there are chicks that may wander onto the path or along the beach, and they can be difficult to see
As you walk down the beach you'll have Long Island Sound to your left and Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge to your right- a salt meadow that is absolutely stunning. The spit of land that you're on is only a few dozen feet across, but extends quite far- with the trail going all the way to Pleasure Beach. I would recommend bringing water if you're intent on making the trek and happen to be less impulsively foolish than I was."
