What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm for its immersive living history experience and knowledgeable staff. The demonstrations of 19th-century farm life, including butter churning and hearth cooking, are often highlighted as enjoyable. However, some guests found the admission price a bit high for the experience, and a few noted a desire for more baby animals or hands-on petting opportunities. The preschool program's strict policies have also been a point of contention for some parents.
"Great place, an amazing team! Congratulations we loved it… the bread and the butter were delicious!"
John Bunel
"This review is specifically in regard to their preschool program geared towards kids ages 2-5. This preschool is far too rigid in its policies. With young kids, unexpected things—like illness—are inevitable, so having the option to make up a class would make a huge difference. I recently learned they allow refunds only if you cancel at least three weeks before the start of the program. Since I registered 2.5 weeks before it began, that policy wouldn’t have applied to me even if I had known about it in advance.
Unfortunately, both times we registered (in the spring and again this fall), my children became sick before the program started. In the spring, it took significant effort to arrange a make-up class, and now we are facing the same issue again, but they will not make accommodations. It’s disappointing to have invested in this program twice and still run into the same problem— having to fight over something so basic.
The program itself is great for kids not yet in school, but families should be aware that exceptions are not made under any circumstances unless you really fight for it, so please keep that in mind. Because of their inflexible approach, I will not be registering my children again."

"My wife and I really enjoyed our trip here. It works best if you try to immerse yourself into their world. It’s not hard to do. We learned a lot about the farm life and the creative ways that everything was done. Excellent experience!"

The Preschool Program: A Closer Look
However, prospective families should be aware of the program's rigid policies, particularly regarding cancellations and make-up classes. Refunds are only granted if cancellation occurs at least three weeks before the program start date. For families who register closer to the start date, or if a child becomes ill before the program begins, making up missed classes can be a significant challenge.
This inflexibility has led to disappointment for some families who, despite investing in the program, have been unable to secure accommodations for unforeseen circumstances. It's crucial for parents to fully understand and accept these policies before enrolling their children to avoid potential frustration.
