The educational programs and special events, like luminary hikes, are frequently highlighted as delightful experiences. While not a dramatic landscape, its serene beauty and commitment to conservation leave a lasting positive impression.

"My husband and I have been enjoying Door County together and with our family for almost 30 years.

EVERY season is beautiful up here and we enjoy them all!

Last night, Crossroads had a luminary hike (about 1/2 mile loop) on one of their trails. It was an absolutely gorgeous and peaceful hike - DELIGHTFUL!

It’s so hard to choose my Top 3 EVER experiences over the past 30 years, but last night’s luminary hike is definitely one of them.

Thanks to the folks at Crossroads that put forth the time and effort to provide such a beautiful, unique and memorable experience! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️"

"Exploring Ida Bay area of Crossroads at Big Creek with Terrie Cooper and a group of avid hikers on August 28. We focused on time traveling back to the time of the Native Peoples and hiked the various trails but focused on the Loggers and Encompment trails particularly. Trekking with Terri focuses on a particular subject each week. Native Peoples have been visiting this area for thousands of years. Consider them as the first "tourists" of Door who came for the abundant fish, elk (not as many deer at all in those days), according to Terri, and beaver, rabbits plus the eventual move to hunter-gathers with crops and more permanent wood and branch housing.

From an earlier review in 2023. Visit the Pollinator Garden these days and it's quite a treat.

CROSSROADS' front yard is getting a makeover. On September 21, on the terraces in front of the Collins Learning Center, a bunch of us -Pollinator Pals - planted hundreds of native pollinator plants designed to attract some of the All Star heavy hitters of the world. Next year should be quite a feast."

"Feet into a walk you can tell that care goes into this place. The paths are well maintained, clean, and very easily hike-able. I would imagine you could push a wheelchair through most of the park with ease. Besides the easy walk, the natural beauty will suck you in, leaving you wanting more, and getting it with every step. It's not stunning like the Grand Canyon by any means, but it's way more than your average stroll in a park. If that's not enough, don't forget the access to clean indoor bathrooms at the Collins Learning Center. The amazing thing is, access to the park is free to all! Mostly paid for by donors."
