What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the natural beauty and sunset views at Station 16 Nature Trail, with many enjoying the beach access and butterfly sightings. However, some find the trail maintenance could be improved, with overgrown sections and a lack of clear signage. Parking can also be a challenge for some.
"Not much to the trail from #16 entrance.
You have to park before the grassy field on a side street, short walk but we had to ask a kind local.
However before the entrance was a row of flowers and about a hundred monarch butterflies that live there year round. That was nice to see."
Mark Dale
"Updated! This trail has extended; Now the trail extends From Fort Moultrie to the Sullivan's Island Lighthouse. Nice-mostly shaded, with added benches and beach access. Many paths intersect the main path. Some additional signage would be very helpful, especially near Fort Moultrie. The trail can be accessed from many points, Lighthouse, Station 16, or Fort Moultrie."
Charles Shoemaker
"Beautiful ocean coast to walk for what seems like miles. Parking is a little challenging and we had to use Google maps to find a trail from the street parking to the trail/coast itself. It was well worth it."
