"My family and I visited this last summer and had what I'd say was a disappointing and possibly unsafe experience. From the start, the horses were uncooperative and we got behind schedule, and I overheard our guide say to the assistant she was going to skip what I assume is the standard cinch check a few minutes into the ride. Two people fell off their horses: our assistant when her horse got spooked, and another younger customer--not sure why. It took a while to get everyone back on and the horses were growing increasingly irritated and uncooperative in the heat/insects, so we ended up turning back. I was uneasy the entire time. While we were indeed on horseback for the entirety of the scheduled time, we stayed in the immediate vicinity of the stable and didnt get to go out to the trail that we had signed up for! Given this, in retrospect I feel we should have been offered a partial refund or perhaps a credit toward a future ride. Our guide kept calm and entertaining but I wonder if the whole situation could have been handled differently."
