"I booked a tee time several weeks in advance for the Byrd course during our planned week at Sunset Beach. Had confirmation and everything. Arrive prior to tee time only to be informed the Byrd course was closed. No communication at all. Had my number and email from the booking. They crammed us in on an already way overbooked Jones course as numerous others had the same situation and Maples is under renovation. Very disappointing situation. Bag drop employee stated in frustration that this has happened multiple times and of course they hear the brunt of it. They were nice and helpful as possible. Pro shop offered no apology nor an explanation just stated that they “moved us to Jones”. Very unacceptable!"

"Played the Jones course. It was alright. Some greens needed repairs but the reason for the rating is not really related to the course.
Left my range finder in the cart. Called and got confirmation they had it. I had already went back home so I asked them to mail it. Gave them my address and even my card number to cover shipping. 5 weeks later and no less then 6 calls to the pro shop and it hasn't been shipped, or, if it was it was certainly not shipped to me. Claimed it was shipped yet didn't have a tracking number. Laughable, really. Each time there is an excuse or some BS reason.
Original eating is a 1 star because of how the lost range finder was handled. Updated to a 4 star which is more reflective of the golf course. The layout was fun and not too challenging but the best part was the short tees in the middle of the fairway for my wife and son who are learning to play from.
Updated: Jimmy (director of Golf Operations) responded to my original email that I wrote well before I left the original review. He turned my experience around completely and went above and beyond what I would have expected. This whole ordeal could have been avoided in the first place, but Jimmy has been very responsive and apologetic. All I wanted through the whole process was some honesty, and Jimmy was able to provide that. Thank you for turning a negative experience into a positive."
