Rowlett Park is praised for its extensive paved trails, numerous playgrounds, and active sports facilities like pickleball and tennis courts. Visitors enjoy the natural beauty along the river and the shaded picnic areas. However, some concerns have been raised about parking on weekends and the presence of homeless individuals and marijuana use, which can affect the sense of safety for some.
"There’s a big park and a smaller park, a really big pavilion with lots of picnic tables as well as smaller ones, there’s benches and tables by the water, trees that provide shade and grass for a nice comfortable picnic spot, opportunities for fishing, paved trails that are good for the handicapped, babies and bikes/scooters. Lots of alligators. Stay away from water. If you follow the water as far as you can you get off the paved path a little. There’s a nice spot to climb a tree over the water, have a picnic at a table, and let the kids use the paved trail right in eyesight of the table for scooters and bikes."

"I really wanted to love this park bc of all the paved trails and nature, but the homeless people everywhere and people smoking pot made it feel unsafe and it was hard to enjoy the nature when all you could smell is weed. There were bathrooms, plenty of parking, and multiple playgrounds, and a dog park"
