Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Tarpon Springs for its unique Greek charm, delicious authentic cuisine, and the historic Sponge Docks. The walkable nature of the district and the variety of shops are also highlights. Some find the area can feel a bit touristy with many souvenir shops, and seafood prices can be on the higher side.

"Very nice little area to visit, you can walk the entire strip in about an hour, plenty of spots to visit, boat tours, restaurants, bakeries, shops, etc. Definitely the area give you the Greek vibes, especially because of the restaurants, and the boats. Always try to find free parking at the end of the street instead of overpaying for the parking lots, there's plenty of free parking at the end and then you can walk the strip up and visit all the different places. If you want to buy sponges (a must have on this town) take your time to visit all the different stores, some will overcharge with elevated prices, but if you take your time you can find good deals worth of taking some sponges home. Restaurants and bakeries are all very good, we enjoyed every place we ate from, good Greek food on every corner. We loved this little town, their streets, houses, parks, everything about it is really nice, their people are also very polite. You can visit all places around in half a day, not to big. Sea food is fresh, but I find it to be a little expensive. Over all, very nice place, if you are around make sure you stop by and browse all the little shops and places to eat, you will enjoy it!"

CHAFIC GREIGE

"This area is great for shopping, walking around and sight seeing. Took a boat ride on one of the boats with a narrative on Tarpon Springs and how it all came to be. Had some treats and bought some stuff. Great day walking and watching all the activities."

Starlight Lifter

"A nice little town - more like a nice little street with some Greek character to it. Ok, houses are painted blue, and there are Greek flags all over the place. No shortage of Greek foods either!
The only thing is the place is over flooded with souvenir shop selling sponges and you feel like you are at the market more than anything.
Still we had good time and will most probably come back to get to know more about sponge business"
