What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tavernier Creek is appreciated for its beautiful sunsets and unique waterfront lifestyle, with the marina serving as a convenient hub for boaters and anglers. However, visitors should be aware of confusing fishing regulations under the bridge and potential access issues. The quirky residential airpark on Airport Road is a notable point of interest.
"We didn't have time to explore much here on our way back from Key West. However, one of the most unusual residental streets I've ever seen is here. Airport Road is a grassy landing strip for small prop planes where homeowners literally park their plane on their driveway or in their garages. It's a real hoot to see."

"We have been under the bridge here to go fishing a couple of times with no problems until recently......and there's lots of rocks and it's tiresome going up and down the rocks everytime you need to change your rig. Could be dangerous too if you're not careful how you step, but nonetheless there's a fishing waste provision here for your left over fishing line and trash, but recently we've been told by Florida Wild Life Conservation agents to leave from the area, because there's a no trespassing sign posted on the side of the bridge. (Not sure if this was here before) ( Both my fishing partner and I have fishing license) ( we've seen quite a few other people fishing here too.).
This is super confusing for people. Either move the fishing waste provision or move the sign. ...or move the the waste container and replace it with a sign that says "NO FiSHING HERE!" But both being there leaves one to wonder can you fish or not, or is it legal to fish here? Is the sign for above the bridge, or does it include under the bridge. Is the fishing just for locals? Sometimes the wildlife police orders you off, sometime not. So can you fish here or not?"
