"We came to see the Hippie Tree and we weren't disappointed! The hike to get there is uphill so a little tough but definitely manageable. The site of the Hippie Tree is off the trail and downhill but plenty of trees and branches to help get you down. And it's stunning!!! We took some paint with us to add to it a little 😉"

"Living here since 2011 I have often visited the natural area/hiking trails many times over, more times than I can count. All seasons, except winter. I've also had countless individuals come with me and or invited me to come with them on a hike and so on. It's a great place for being out in nature away from the main Traverse City's, city area. Nice and peaceful, birds and other critters all about. It's serene for photography and videography as well. Countless memories here."

"The hiking trails at the Grand Traverse Commons are confusing and poorly marked. Most sign posts have been vandalized. Some trails have deep ruts and exposed large roots creating trip hazards. There are several beautiful scenic viewpoints looking east to downtown and the two Bays."
