The free parking and air-conditioned interior are appreciated amenities, though occasional waits for tours due to limited staffing have been noted.
"First time there today with my family, and it's a great museum. Easy, free parking. House is gorgeous with an informative tour guide who does a nice job balancing the information and the flow through the house. Tour length about 45 minutes. Because only one person was working we did have to wait for a previous tour to finish and there was no sign to let us know that so we stood around for 10 minutes or so, but there were plenty of informational displays in the admission area to keep us occupied. A great piece of Trenton and NJ history!"

"Love their mission to preserving American history and their commitment to tell Black History within their work. I went for a reading of Frederick Douglass July 5th speech to honor the contradiction of a nation born in service to freedom with the chains of slavery intact.
The actual house is now back open and fully air-conditioned to help preserve its original state."
