What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests love the Palomino Motel for its incredible value, charming 50s atmosphere, and prime location on Historic Route 66. The friendly staff and the iconic neon sign are frequent highlights. While rooms are a bit worn, the overall experience is highly positive for those seeking nostalgia and affordability.
"I'm giving it a 5 because it was quiet, the price, and the total 50s vibe. We were traveling with a leàn camp. But yes it's not a perfect place in terms of cleanliness. So if your OCD about clean then this is not your motel. Believe it or not this was the easiest motel I've stayed in where I had no issues with the Internet, so go figure. Anyway I loved it."

"rooms are a little worn down, but for 50 bucks can’t complain, we were broke down and the people at this hotel were nothing but amazing, they hosted me, and my dog even made sure he was fed and had water, even the people staying there we’re great. We’ll definitely consider stopping by again"

"Decided to try this place and I really enjoyed my visit. You couldn’t ask for a better price for this location. Not only is the Motel directly on Historic Route 66 but it is on a stretch of Road where there are gas stations, restaurants and parks within walking distance. The famous Dels Restaurant is directly across the street and you can buy yourself a nice dinner from Dels with the money you save on this room. Lila (owner/operator) is such a sweetheart and thank you for having me as a guest. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, heat and water were all in good working condition. I love watching the traffic from the patio area in front of the room with chairs provided by the Motel. The vintage neon sign lights up and changes colors. It’s adds character to Tucumcari along with the other Motels still operating here."
