Reviews Summary
Discovery Lab is a highly interactive and educational science museum that offers a fantastic experience for families. Visitors praise the hands-on exhibits, especially the Tape Tunnels and Maker Spaces, which keep children engaged for hours. While occasional exhibit downtime is noted, the overall consensus is that it's a fun, clean, and well-designed space for kids to explore and learn.
"We have been here several times, and usually, there is only one or two things out of order. During this visit, I lost count of the number of times I saw a "temporarily out of order" sign, so I started taking pictures.
I was disappointed by the BMX bike addition, as it was pretty boring and some of the things were out of order. They removed one of my daughter's favorite things (the interactive sand exhibit) for a counter with bike parts on it, and you can pretend to repair a bike. She looked at the bike stuff for a couple of seconds, then moved on, wheras the sand exhibit kept her entertained for 10 minutes or more.
I don't mean to only point out the negative things, there certainly was still enough to keep my child entertained. All the climbing stuff was in order. The tape slide is always a winner. Some of the little balls area was out of order but the parts still working were fun.
I just feel disappointed that a lot was out of order, but we are, of course, still paying full price to get in ($14 per person). I feel like if this much is broken, buyers should get a discount. (Not that any place would ever do that) As the buyer we are just expected to get over it.
That being said, our child still had a good time and was entertained for several hours, and we will be coming back again
I just hope there are fewer "out of order" signs next time."

"So many adventures and safe things to do for your child. This place will help their young mind explore, adventure and nurture the creative juices every child has. I highly recommend the membership because you will be back time and time again. Come in and let your little adventure loose in the tape tunnels which is one of our favorites."

Embracing the STEAM Experience
From building and testing in the Maker Spaces to exploring the principles of motion and force, every exhibit is crafted to spark curiosity. The inclusion of art in the STEAM approach means that creativity is as valued as scientific inquiry. This holistic approach ensures that children develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and a lifelong love for learning.
Many of the exhibits are designed with a cause and effect theme, helping children understand how their actions influence outcomes. This is particularly evident in areas like the interactive sand exhibit or the ball play zones. The goal is to empower children to be active participants in their learning journey, making science and technology feel approachable and exciting.
Navigating Exhibits and Maintenance
However, it's worth noting that, as with many interactive museums, some exhibits may occasionally be temporarily out of order. While the staff works to maintain everything, occasional downtime can occur. Some reviews mention disappointment when a favorite exhibit is unavailable, especially when paying full admission price. It's a good idea to go with an open mind and be prepared to explore the many other engaging activities available.
Despite occasional maintenance issues, the overall sentiment remains positive. The climbing structures are usually in order and a big hit, and even partially working areas can still provide plenty of fun. The commitment to providing a stimulating and educational environment is clear, and most families still find ample opportunities for their children to explore, learn, and have a great time.
