There is also a section containing 197 unmarked African American graves which could/might be linked to slave insurrections, lynchings, and or executions.
The cemetery also has over 231 unmarked buried Confederate soldiers along with a large monument to the insurrection known as the Confederate States of America, placed by the Mollie Moore Davis Chapter #217 Daughters of the Confederacy.
