Things to do in Ventura
Hi there, My husband, son (11 week old) and I will be coming to Ventura this weekend to watch my niece play in her softball tournament. I just wanted to get advice on some things to do while we are there on down time. We usually just hit up the winery’s when we go on…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Old Creek Ranch Winery is praised for its beautiful vineyard views and relaxed, scenic atmosphere, making it a delightful retreat. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the opportunity to bring their own food. However, some guests have found the upfront tasting fees and seating charges, along with a less personal service style, to be a departure from traditional wine tasting experiences.
"Beautiful location/views, interesting experience. My friends and I have been wine tasting for 3 decades. We came to the venue because 2 years ago my mom and sister had been to the winery and loved their experience, personal service and attentiveness. This time we were charged for the location to sit $42, and then we were charged up front before we ever saw any wine for tastings $30/pp, and part of that payment included tipping up front for service you don't actually receive. Then we received our wine flight and when we asked are you going to share about the wine the server responded, "read the menu". Maybe this is the new way to usher people in and out quickly and impersonally but I've always enjoyed wine tasting for the personal interactions and to learn about the wines in beautiful venues. Every winery we have ever been to offers to comp your tasting if you purchase wine, not only did this place not ask if we wanted to purchase but since they charged you up front there would be no comping. I guess it's all in what you are looking for, now you know. Oh and make sure you don't show up early, they open at 11."

"Old Creek Ranch & Winery is a must-visit winery when in the Santa Barbara and Ojai area. It is a beautiful plot of land tucked away at the end of a dead end street and is completely picturesque. The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable, and very chill. The wine is decently priced and very good. There’s little shaded spots where you can sit and split a bottle or two with your partner or group of friends and just relax. I have never been more chill or happy than when I’ve been here, no joke! Highly recommend visiting OCR&W!! You are truly missing out of it you don’t."

"Old Creek Ranch & Winery is a delightful retreat for any wine lover—or anyone looking to unwind in scenic style. With a diverse tasting menu, whimsical outdoor lounges, and staff that truly care, it’s like discovering your own private slice of California wine country. Whether you’re a serious oenophile or just after a serene afternoon with good company, this ranch delivers on every level.
Highly recommended: reserve a tasting flight, linger on the lawns, chat with the team, and let the tranquil vineyard ambiance sweep you away. It’s a Ventura–Ojai experience you’ll want to return to.
Bring your picnic basket or a Charcuterie board. They do not have a food menu."
