Day 2 field trip was a visit to the Indian River Citrus Museum. I’m excited about some potential interviews, but otherwise…I’m back to drafting.

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Indian River Citrus Museum, calling it a 'hidden gem' and a 'must for Florida history.' Despite its small size, it's praised for being packed with information and offering a delightful, educational experience, especially with the knowledgeable staff and tasty citrus samples. It's a perfect, quick stop for families and history enthusiasts.

"What a hidden gem! I visited this place with my children as part of our homeschooling journey, and it turned into such an incredible learning experience. They discovered so much about citrus, its history, and the local community. Kathleen was fantastic she patiently answered my daughter’s many questions and really made the visit special.

Although the space is small, it’s packed with information and hands-on learning opportunities you’d never expect. It was also super easy to find using Google Maps, which made the trip even smoother. Highly recommend for families, homeschoolers, or anyone curious about the world of citrus and the rich history of this area!"

"This museum is small (one room) .. thank you Kathleen for crash educational course on the history of Indian County citrus. Donation base entry. I did enjoy the different logos used throughout the years!"

Haven

"What a cute little museum! It was just luck that we found it! Everytime we pass the building, we think it's the Heritage part of the building and it never looked open. But we saw the sign and boy, we're glad we went. Not only did we get a great tour, but free Florida orange and grapefruit samples!

This place is a must for Florida history!"
