Verona Park is widely praised as a beautiful, well-maintained local gem offering a peaceful escape with its scenic lake, walking paths, and excellent playground. Visitors appreciate the free parking and dog-friendly atmosphere, making it ideal for families, couples, and solo outings. While generally loved, some note that restroom upkeep can be inconsistent and weekend crowds can make parking challenging.
"Since I was visiting Montclair I decided to stop by here 1st. Park offers free parking tho limited still nice not having to look for street parking. Park is dog friendly, offers walking trail and has a nice lake at the center. Plenty of benches to relax.area is pretty nice, clean and quiet maybe because it was a weekday but its a nice park to go for a walk, sit and read, listen to music or whatever comes to mind. Definitely worth visiting is you're in the area."

"Verona Park is a beautiful, family-friendly spot nestled in Essex County. The lake, walking path, and peaceful landscaping make it ideal for a casual stroll, light jogging, or just sitting and enjoying nature. It’s a great place to recharge without leaving the area.
The playground is a big plus for families—clean, safe, and designed for different age groups. There’s plenty of seating nearby for parents to relax while keeping an eye on the kids. My little ones love the climbing structures and swings.
Restrooms are available, which is a major convenience, though they can be hit-or-miss depending on the day. Sometimes they’re clean and stocked, but other times they could definitely use more frequent maintenance.
Paddle boat rentals on the lake are a fun seasonal option, and there’s room for picnics and light recreational activities. The park is well-kept overall, though it gets crowded on weekends, and parking can be tricky when it’s busy.
Still, Verona Park remains a local gem—perfect for families, couples, or solo visitors. With a bit more attention to restroom upkeep and weekend crowding, it would easily be a five-star destination."

"Verona Park one of the better parks in Essex County. It is a great place to have a picnic. You can take your chair a small table your speaker and just chill in the shade of trees. You can jog or walk around the lake or is it a pond. Bocce ball court or whatever they call that area. Playground for the toddlers and little ones. There are two big areas on each side of the park. The Shack Shack offers refreshments snacks and finger foods. There you also rent the Swans and paddle boats to spend time on the water. You can fish as long as you are a licensed angler. The water hold carp, catfish, largemouth, bluegills an is stock with trout twice a year. Spring stocking an Autumn stocking. Many couples, graduates ext take pictures by the bridge area. I say all this to say Verona Park is worth a visit and see why many people love this park."
