"A very fun way to spend some time. You can bike it or walk it. I have done both many many times. Fun activity for me and the wife on the free. I can’t wait for the future expansion and what it will look like."
Jonathan Skaggs
"I saw this cool looking trail last week when I had to go to Vicksburg, but I didn’t have time to stop so I knew I would return. The Vicksburg Trailway runs for nearly 2 miles on a former railroad corridor.
The paved trail is surrounded by dense woodlands and wetland areas for all but the southernmost stretch, where the corridor emerges into the downtown area of Vicksburg. The Vicksburg Depot Museum sits across the street from the entrance and there also appears to be a pavilion for a farmers market. There is a nice little parking area at the beginning of the trail.
Near its middle, the Vicksburg Trailway passes through the Vicksburg Recreation Area. The park features nature trails, a picnic area and a disc golf course. By taking a jaunt through the park’s trails I got another 2 miles in making the entire trip a little over 6 miles out and back. There is a port a John at the park but I did not see any other facilities. The actual trail way is completely paved and handicap accessible. This trail is dog friendly on leash, kid friendly and also hosts bicyclists and other non motorized activity so share the path accordingly.
For those who don’t live around Vicksburg, this appears to be a really cool little town with some fun eatery places so this could be a day trip destination."

"A quiet four mile round trip through tall trees and alongside a farm field. Vicksburg will be expanding the trail, but even now it’s a nice hike with just enough people along the way to feel comfortable."
