A couple of weeks ago we got the opportunity to spend some time at the National Eagle Center with one of their handsome residents, Latsch. He was such a good sport, letting us admire him. Although he only has one good eye, he’s living his best eagle life with the incredible handlers who dote on him in every way possible. Thank you @nationaleaglecenter 🦅

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the National Eagle Center for its knowledgeable and passionate staff, who provide engaging presentations about the resident bald eagles and their conservation. The exhibits, particularly those detailing Native American culture and eagle significance, are highly appreciated. The center is seen as a gem on the Mississippi River, offering a valuable educational experience for all ages.

"Such a marvelous place to visit to learn about the natives who once called this town home and to see and learn more about our national bird. The employees are so knowledgeable, kind, and patient. We had a wonderful visit, just wished we came earlier, but we happened upon this jewel of a place. They have scopes where you can see the eagles in the trees across the way. There are exhibits that pay respect to so many things eagle related and American, including how women contributed to the military. They tie it in beautifully. I'd love to visit again with my grandchildren. Kids and adults who really enjoy learning would likely really enjoy this place."

Freddi

"I love this place! There is an informed staff who are pleasant and obviously really enjoy their work there. They have live eagles you can see (but behid glass so perfectly safe), examples of other wildlife (not live) so as to give an environmental look. Lots of information about eagles and how we can help preserve their habitat to keep them safe.
There is also a wonderful display of Native American culture and the part the eagles play in it."

Nadine Ness

"I loved the presentation, I learned so much! And not just the the fact but the 'why' behind the fact. For example, the nest is roughly 6' wide because the parents are planning for full grown adolescent kids in just a few months. I had no idea they grew so fast.

And I also appreciated Jared's "dad" jokes. While they could be corny his delivery and timing was solid.

The rest of the center was great. There was a mixture of adult and child activities and facts. I especially liked the Indigenous People's and eagle conservationists sections.

I'll end on thanking you for the work you are doing! While I think most of us want to see wild animals wild, these magnificent animals wouldn't be alive if it weren't for you because of their permanent injuries. Now they are saving their species in another way by educating us on their importance."
