Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the immersive and educational tours at Carson Springs Wildlife Conservation Foundation, highlighting the incredible close-up views of animals and the passionate, knowledgeable staff. The unique habitats and the heartwarming friendships between animals are consistently praised, making it a highly recommended experience that feels far superior to traditional zoos. Some visitors note that while the experience is exceptional, it's important to book popular tours in advance and be prepared for the Florida weather.

"The Saturday tours are a fantastic experience. Worth every penny plus a donation. They work to, as much as possible, get you great views of the animals up close. Have you ever heard a tiger crunch bones? While 6 feet from you? This place will spoil you on zoos. These are large enclosures, no concrete, well loved animals. Many are rescues, many are part of endangered breeding programs.

The staff are knowledgeable and can answer any questions. The tour is with several folks, including the owner of the place. I have visited several times for open houses, but the tour was a huge step up in terms of experience and learning.

I was also very impressed at the many additions since my last visit a few years ago. So many new animals and enclosures!

Personally, the Saturday tour was 10x the experience of an open house and that was already one of my most favorite events in Alachua county. My kids: 2, 8 and 11 had a good time and all had new favorite animal! Bring drinks and a snack for the kids. It is sunny, wear sunscreen."

William Rice

"I was so impressed with the efforts and care that owners Christine and Barry are giving these beautiful creatures. Supported by a handful of volunteers, private and commercial sponsors of some of the animals and male-female pairs, and limited donations has kept Carson Springs Wildlife Conservation (a non-profit organization) alive for over 20 years.

It’s immediately clear when you arrive and drive through two electric perimeter gates permitting access through the 8’-10’ fences that safety and security is paramount. The animals appear well cared for simply by the way the animals are so active on such a warm summer day.

The golf-cart ride through their 70 acre, Non-profit Conservation area was both educating and inspirational. I left with the feeling of wanting to become a volunteer and help with their efforts of the animals. The many breeding pairs and babies shows the success of this organization. Our favorite was Desmond (the Giraffe). The kitty stretched up on the fence while eating weighs over 650lbs. Check out our photos!"

BJ Kirby

"Our tour was incredible! Mia was very knowledgeable and fun. It was a thrill to be able to be so close to the animals.
Their Habitats are very large and clean.
You can tell the animals are content and well cared for.

Highly, highly recommend."
