Reviews Summary

Jessie E. Tanner Park offers a pleasant rubberized track and a fun playground, making it a decent spot for a walk or family outing. However, some visitors have reported negative experiences with park staff regarding unclear rules and perceived rudeness, which can detract from the overall enjoyment.

"Me and my family visited this park recently and had a run in with the park attendant. My son and his father were practicing their soccer kicks on the far field when she approached us. She was screaming belligerent at us. We were unaware that the field we were on was not open to the public. The gate was unlocked and the soccer goals were in place. And it was not during a time they were having football games. She approached us very unprofessionally screaming how we needed to get off HER field immediately. That the field was being used for a football game (which it was not at the time). When we asked her where it was posted and why we weren't allowed on an open field when no one was here, she continued screaming about how she was the rules and what she says goes. And then threatened us with the police when we were already moving off the field to go to the track. I told her that the screaming and rude behavior was not necessary and she couldve simply asked us to move. She then got on my face and asked was I new to the area and how did I not know the rules. I told her I only visit the park on the weekends and was unaware. Me and my family left the field with her still screaming behind us. She followed us yelling about how she was sick of having to explain to people that they cant be on that field. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. Her behavior was erratic in front of my young daughter and her friend and also the entire play area full of children and their familes. Something needs to be done. We were under the impression the park was a public place for families. Not somewhere to be bullied and berated. And we're not the only ones who's had her act this way. Its ridiculous!"

"Karen’s literally run this place LOL. Two times I’ve went here and I was approached disrespectfully by the unhappy cranky lady that sits at the concession . She claimed that everything is private property Including the Track, that’s listed as public. Apparently, only one person is allowed on the track at a time . Diabolical. Stop hiring people with zero social skills. I try to be a perspective first person, so I’ll pray for her well being but clearly I’m not the first person to say something about the rudeness."
