What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the beautiful, fragrant lavender fields and the unique sensory experience. The farm shop offers delightful lavender treats and products, and the option to pick your own lavender is a popular activity. While some note that not all products are made on-site, the overall atmosphere is described as peaceful, relaxing, and visually stunning, making it a highly recommended stop on Washington Island.
"We stopped by Fragrant Aya Lavender Farm and Shop and really enjoyed our visit. The gardens were beautiful, even though they weren’t in bloom at the time, and the property was very peaceful and well maintained. Inside, the shop offered a lovely selection of lavender varieties and essential oils, and the staff was friendly and welcoming.
We had been hoping to find more locally grown lavender products, but it appeared that much of what was sold was outsourced. Still, the overall experience was relaxing and enjoyable, and the quality of their items was excellent. It’s a great stop if you love lavender and want to browse a thoughtfully curated selection in a tranquil setting."

"Such a cool experience! It was not too busy when we went around 10am on a Sunday. Tickets to get into the lavender farm were $5 per person. If you wanted to do pick your own lavender it is an additional $15. The grounds were stunning and breathtaking! There is also a cute bar and restaurant attached. Additionally there is a gift shop with lavender ice cream, sandwiches, and lavender macaroons and candies. I highly recommend coming here!"

"Worth the stop, regardless of season. You might think that a lavender farm isn’t terribly interesting if the flowers aren’t in peak bloom, but our experience this week proves quite otherwise. For the low price of only $5 per person, you can walk amid their peaceful field full of 20,000 lavender plants. But before we even got out into the lavender, we had the most special, genuine, and informative conversation with the sweet lady at the ticket booth. It was immediately clear that she had a great love not only of the lavender farm but Washington Island as a whole. She gave us detailed information about the farm’s history and made many other recommendations of places to stop and experience while on the island. She even wore purple glasses and a purple floral blouse - her pride was evident in every aspect! We walked amidst the lavender and also tried one of the lavender lemonade slushies, which was delicious! And despite the lavender not being at peak bloom, it was still a relaxing and informative stop on the island. Highly recommended!"
