Reviews Summary
Waynesville Main Street is celebrated for its creative and tasty meals, with many praising the excellent service and inviting atmosphere. While some visitors have experienced disorganization and slow service, the quality of the food, particularly breakfast items and unique dishes, is consistently highlighted as a major draw.
"Wow. My husband and I had a tasty, creative meal with excellent service. I had the pesto chicken with orzo and flavor and seasoning were on point. My husband had the beef tips with blue cheese and orzo and he also loved his. We both also had the rich and yummy Brussel sprouts and I literally am going back there to order a giant bowl of those next time! Love the decor and atmosphere and the service was excellent and personable. Also, the prices were pretty good for our entrees compared to some restaurants around here. I highly recommend it!"

"My fiancé and I are new to the area and were excited to try out Main St. Diner while exploring. We were hungry and hopeful—it looked like a cute spot and had a homey feel. We only waited about five minutes for a table, which was no problem.
However, once we were seated, things started to go downhill. It took about 15 minutes just to get our waters, and then unfortunately, our waiter forgot about us completely. We ended up waiting over 45 minutes just to place our appetizer and entrée order. He may have been new, and while he was very kind and doing his best, it was clear he was struggling. He asked us to repeat our order multiple times and even asked us to point it out on the menu, which we were happy to do—but it definitely slowed things down.
Once we finally ordered, it took over an hour to receive our food. During that time, we also noticed a few other tables having similar issues. One couple near us was asked to move from their table to a booth after sitting for an hour still waiting to place their drink order. They even had to ask staff to wipe down their new table. Our own table hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly either—I stepped on a stray waffle under the table.
To be fair, the food was actually very good when it finally arrived. But at that point, we were just ready to leave. A sweet staff member who wasn’t even our server had to track someone down just so we could get our check.
Overall, the staff we did interact with were nice, but the experience felt very disorganized and frustrating. Maybe it was an off day, and we understand that happens—but sadly, it left a bad impression on what we hoped would be a cozy new local favorite."

"Fantastic food!
It was busy — to be expected for Sunday brunch — but my husband and I only waited five or 10 minutes. I knew I had to have a blueberry pancake, but it took a while to decide what all to order because the menu looked fantastic. Fresh biscuits, sandwiches, omelettes, unique sides... I ended up going with the Reuben, because I can rarely resist it on a menu — especially if the corned beef is house made, which at this spot, it is. l ordered pesto orzo as a side, at a slight upcharge, and of COURSE my blueberry pancake for dessert. My husband got a French dip-style cheesesteak and fries.
The flavors on everything were immaculate. I don't usually like cheesesteaks because the meat usually lacks flavor and relies on cheese to make it interesting. Not at Main Street Diner — the ribeye is local and full of flavor. The corned beef was salty and tender. The pesto orzo was bright and herby. The pancake? I mean, how could you go wrong? Soft and buttery with just a hint of crisp at the edges, doused in syrup as it should be.
Our server, Richard, was super friendly and never let our coffee mugs get low. It felt really clean and modern in there, but it still had a little bit of that diner charm."
