Boldt Castle is fun. Renowned bass fishing. Old McDonalds farm in Sackets is a fun petting zoo for kids. Lots of Amish in the area too with farm stands.
Mansion on one of 1000 islands
I visited this island last October. I highly recommend visiting, there is a great history and a very sad story that goes with the island. The castle is being constantly restored with bridge toll money. I hope to visit again in a few years to see the newest renovations.

"I love old architecture and especially wealthy buildings and mansions! This gilded age building is beautiful! The story is as amazing as the building. Mr Boldt was a hotelier and he loved boats! The granite for the building was quarried locally and the colors include pink, gray and tans. The interior has beautiful wood details with carvings that are beautiful. If you are here (and you love old things!) in the 1000 Islands drive to Boldt yacht house and take their taxi to the castle, you will love it."
